You must be a current member of SNL to submit. The submission fee is $40.00.

SNL 2020 will be held virtually, in an online format. Poster and slide presentations will be hosted in a way that allows for conversation and feedback between presenter and audience member. Details of this format will follow shortly.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Postdoctoral Fellow
Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available to work on the Project of Strategic Importance Scheme funded by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) titled 'The neurocognition of typical and atypical language development: Towards developing early biomarkers'. These are two-year positions with the starting date of 1 September 2020.
The research project is an international collaboration between PolyU and Georgetown University. The aim is to identify key neurocognitive substrates of typical and atypical speech, language and reading development, including developmental stuttering, developmental language disorder (DLD) and developmental dyslexia, in Chinese children through cognitive and MRI measures. Headed by Dr. Caicai Zhang, the research team includes several speech language pathologists and cognitive neuroscientists at PolyU (Dr. Angel Chan, Dr. Dustin Lau, Dr. Mehdi Bakhtiar, Dr. Min Ney Wong, Dr. Man Tak Leung and Dr. William Shi Yuan Wang), and an international collaborator Dr. Michael Ullman.
The project is linked to CoBra (Conversational Brains), a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme.
The successful candidates will be based at the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies at PolyU and work with the entire research team. Job duties include behavioral and MRI data collection and analysis, paper writing and publishing.
(i)Applicants should have a PhD in linguistics, psychology, cognitive neuroscience or related disciplines;
(ii)Applicants should have research experience in developmental neuroscience or any of the three aforementioned developmental disorders: developmental stuttering, DLD, and developmental dyslexia, with possible qualification/experience for diagnosing any of the three disorders;
(iii)Experience with MRI data collection and analysis is preferred;
(iv)  It is desirable if the applicant is familiar with Chinese (Cantonese).

The Basque Center on Cognition Brain and Language (San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain) offers
Research Professors & Research Associates positions in three main broad areas or research:
(1)-Language, reading and developmental disorders: How language acquisition, comprehension, production, and reading take place in the human brain. Special attention will be paid to language disorders and the development of computerized tools for their early diagnosis and treatment.
(2)-Multilingualism and second language learning: The cognitive and brain mechanisms of language acquisition and processing in a second language, taking into consideration the age of acquisition, proficiency and usage. Special attention will be paid to multilingualism within the school system and to the development of new educational technologies for second language learning.
(3)- Neurodegeneration, brain damage and healthy aging: Language and Cognition: Early cognitive and brain markers related to language for neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer, Parkinson); neural plasticity and language functions through brain stimulation in the awake patient during surgical brain operations; developing of computerized diagnostic and training tools for aphasic patients and neurodegenerative diseases.
The Center promotes a rich research environment without substantial teaching obligations. It provides access to the most advanced behavioral and neuroimaging techniques, including 3 Tesla MRI, a whole-head MEG system, four ERP labs, a NIRS lab, a baby lab including an eyetracker, two eyetracking labs, and several well-equipped behavioral labs. There are excellent technical support staff and research personnel (PhD and postdoctoral students).
We are looking for cognitive neuroscientists or experimental psychologists with a background in psycholinguistics and/or neighboring cognitive neuroscience areas, computational modelers, and physicists and/or engineers with fMRI/MEG expertise.
These permanent positions are for researchers willing to develop a long-term scientific career in the Basque Country. This call is open both to stablished researchers as Research Associates, with 8 to 12 years of postdoctoral experience; and senior leading researchers as Research Professors, with longer research experience. The applicants must have their PhD completed before January 2012.

Post-doctoral Research
Postdoctoral Fellow: Cognitive Neuroscience of Semantics. A post-doctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Rutvik Desai at the University of South Carolina, Department of Psychology. The lab focuses on cognitive neuroscience of language, semantic memory, and embodiment of concepts using neuroimaging, brain stimulation, patient studies, lesion-symptom mapping, and computational modeling. Excellent facilities for fMRI, TMS, tDCS, and eye tracking are available. The Fellow will have an exciting opportunity to pursue collaborative and self-directed projects at the Institute for Mind and Brain (http://mindandbrain.sc.edu/).
Candidates with a PhD in any of the cognitive sciences (e.g., Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science) are welcome to apply. A research background in cognitive neuroscience/cognitive science, relevant to semantic or language processing, is required. Expertise with fMRI (including MVPA), or brain stimulation (TMS or tDCS) is required. Experience in one or more of lesion-symptom mapping, behavioral testing or imaging of patient populations, EEG, connectionist modeling, or machine learning is also a positive, along with skills in programming and statistics (e.g., Python, Matlab, R). A promising publication record is a plus. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
